Toyota launches luxury midsize sedan “ALL-NEW CAMRY” in Thailand

Mr. Kalin Sarasin, Chairman of the Board, Mr. Noriaki Yamashita, President, along with Mr. Suphakorn Rattanawaraha, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand, introduced the Hybrid Medium Size Sedan, ALL-NEW CAMRY, offering the progress beyond perfection, on October 10, 2024, at Toyota ALIVE Bangna, Thailand.

Toyota Motor Thailand strengthens its leadership in hybrid vehicles with the “TOYOTA TRUSTED HYBRID” concept, which has long established a reputation for trust in Thailand and is now elevating confidence on a global scale. This time, Toyota unveils the all-new Camry, a hybrid mid-size sedan that combines luxury, outstanding performance, comprehensive convenience functions, and safety system that surpasses Toyota’s standards.

To meet diverse needs, the all-new Camry is designed under the concept of “SEDAN TO THE CORE”, which emphasizes and enhances the strengths of the Camry. Ownership is made more accessible through nationwide promotional activities and special offers for existing Toyota customers. The T-Connect system caters to various travel and lifestyle preferences, providing convenience for all target groups, including PHYD, TCFR Plus+, and ALIVE-X. Additionally, the KINTO ONE can be another option for customers. Customer confidence is further strengthened with over 450 service centers nationwide, staffed by expert technicians experienced in hybrid systems, along with full availability of standard spare parts. Moreover, the all-new Camry offers enhanced performance and features at more attractive prices than ever with special prices during the introductory period, starting from 1,455,000 baht –  1,789,000 baht.

The Camry was introduced to Thailand in 1993. It has gained overwhelming acceptance from customers not only in Thailand but also in the global markets. Since it has launched, we sold more than 230,000 units (1993 – Aug. 2024) in Thailand and exported more than 130,000units to over 10 countries (2007 – Aug. 2024).  It has contributed to the Thailand’s economic growth and a development of automobile industry for 15 years. Definitely, Toyota Camry has played important role in Thailand’s midsize-sedan segment. More importantly, Camry HEV is the pioneer of electrified vehicles or xEV in Thailand since local production was started in 2009. Since then, Toyota has added the HEV models and developed the “ever-better HEVs” to serve multiple customers’ needs.

And now, expanding xEV is one of the big movement in Thailand. This year, xEV ratio expand to 36% in total market. And HEVs increased to 21%, leading the expansion of xEV market together with the fact that BEV increased to 13%. This showed that HEVs become the most popular solution among Thai customers. And this year, Toyota became No.1 in xEV & HEV sales in Thailand especially thanks to great success of Yaris Cross which was launched last year. So I would like to express our appreciation to our customers who support on “Toyota Trusted Hybrid” which is the most reliable and practical solution.

The exterior design follows the theme of Energetic Beauty, featuring a Hammerhead frontal design, LED projector headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights, sleek Full LED taillights, and new 18-inch alloy wheels that blend sportiness with luxury.

The interior design also follows the theme of Energetic Beauty, with the cabin crafted to feel airy, spacious, and comfortable. The openable Panoramic Roof features an electric sunshade. The driver’s seat area is designed as a cockpit, offering a sense of agility while driving. High-quality interior materials are meticulously selected, blending simplicity with modernity. The seats are upholstered in a mix of genuine smooth leather and synthetic leather. The interior offers two color schemes: Black and the option of Yellow Brown for the HEV PREMIUM LUXURY with the exterior of Precious Metal silver and Platinum White Pearl.

All sub-models are equipped with 2.5-liter engine, in-line 4-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve in Dual VVT-i type, paired with a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor and lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery, delivering a maximum power of 227 horsepower. Fuel consumption rate is 25 km/l (based on ECO STICKER, tested in a laboratory under UN R101 standards). Together with other benefits from the TNGA platform, such as low center of gravity to reduce body sway, independent Double Wishbone Suspension, and reinforced steel structure for enhanced torque support, stability, and road-holding efficiency.

4. PROGRESS OF PRACTICALITY: Convenience

The meter and the 12.3-inch large touchscreen support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, together with T-Connect, wireless Charger, EPB system, and ABH system, electrically adjustable steering wheel with memory and automatic tilt when entering and exiting. Seats are upholstered in a combination of genuine smooth leather and synthetic leather. Front seats are 8-way electrically adjustable with electric Lumbar Support and Seat Ventilator. The driver’s seat includes a 2-position memory system. Front passenger seat features a side backrest adjustment button, while rear passenger seat features electric backrest adjustment, Capacitive Touch Controller, electrically adjustable rear window sunshade, and rear door sunshades.
