Toyota Gazoo Racing Motorsport 2023 “MAKE EVER BETTER CAR” From Circuit to the Road Enjoying Trackside Experience and Sheer Thrill of High-Performance Cars

Mr. Noriaki Yamashita, President of Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited, and Mr. Sontaya Kunplume, President of The Royal Automobile Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, alongside Mr. Suphakorn Rattanawaraha, Executive Vice President of Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited, jointly presided over the “Toyota Gazoo Racing Motorsport 2023” Press Conference on 27 April 2023, at TOYOTA ALIVE, Bangna-Trad KM 3.

Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited has taken a leading role in pioneering motorsports in Thailand since 1986. From then on, Toyota has been at the forefront of promoting the sport and taken comprehensive approaches to developing it, including organizing competitions, fielding its own racing team, supporting racers at various levels from youths to professionals, as well as providing opportunities for Thai racers to build reputation for the country. As a result of its passionate commitment to the continuous advancement of the Thai motorsports, Toyota has undisputedly become a prominent player in this field.

Mr. Noriaki Yamashita, President of Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited, said in the press conference, “Toyota realizes that the severe environment of motorsports is place where “cars run, breakdown, be fixed and come out stronger,” and that is why it helps us to build “ever-better cars”.    And also Toyota continues new challenges aiming to develop new options toward carbon neutrality through motorsports. On March this year, ROOKIE Racing joined the Super Taikyu Series with the GR86 CNF concept which uses biomass-derived and CO2 synthetic fuel. On top of that, to explore new options and expand partnership, the GR Corolla H2 Concept to use the liquid hydrogen is developing. It is planned to enter the Fuji 24 Hours Race on May 26th to 28th.

In Thailand, this year marks our 37th year of Toyota motorsports. We aim to “make ever-better car”, under the extreme condition “From circuit to the road”. To achieve a sustainable motorsport and aim to cultivate young drivers, we will continue to implement One Make Race of “Hilux Revo” and “Corolla Altis GR Sport”.

Mr. Yamashita further explained, “”On top of that, we are delighted to announce to implement “Yaris Ativ Lady One Make Race” which is replacing “the Vios One Make Race”, along with the recently introduced New Yaris. They come with 1.2L engine to show the performance, fuel efficiency, durability, and quality. Furthermore, to reiterate our stance towards carbon neutrality, we are pleased to unveil 3 cars powered by carbon neutral fuel which are Yaris e-fuel for Thailand Super Series, and Toyota 86 and Altis e-fuel for Idemitsu Super Endurance. On top of them, the Yaris e-fuel will participate in the Yaris One Make Race. It will be driven by the young racer who won our “2022 Dream Racer”, which is the project to create new generation racers and foster motorsports culture.”

Moreover, our collaboration involves using the insights and data gathered throughout the racing season to improve the performance of our cars and develop vehicles that better meet the demands of our valued customers. For the 2023 season of Toyota Gazoo Racing Motorsport, we have a wide variety of exciting and engaging activities planned for our event participants. In addition to our main racing events like the One Make Races, we have a range of entertainment options, including Racing Mania and E-Motorsports, to enhance the overall experience for all racing enthusiasts.”
